Michael Jackson is the highest earning dead celebrity! Jackson, the King of Pop earned a whooping $275 million since his death in June 2009 which puts him at the top of Forbes list of the Top Earning Dead Celebrities.
Forbes said: “Jackson’s posthumous earnings have been bolstered by shrewd negotiations by his estate, including a merchandising deal and the rights to his name and likeness for the Sony film ‘This Is It’, which grossed over a quarter of a billion dollars.”
Elvis Presley came second in the list with earnings of $60 million, while J.R. R Tolkien, the ‘Lord of the Rings’ writer was third with $50 million.
