Press killed ‘Sex and the City’ franchise: Chris Noth

‘Sex and the City’ star Chris Noth has claimed that the successful franchise of the movie is dead as a result of criticism. As per New York magazine, the actor, who played the ‘Mr Big’ character in the first part, said that the second instalment of the film was over and blamed press for the same.

“It`s over. The franchise is dead. The press killed it," the Telegraph quoted him as saying. "Your magazine f------ killed it. New York Magazine. It`s like all the critics got together and said, ‘this franchise must die.’ Because they all had the exact same review. It`s like they didn`t see the movie," he added.

But there was speculation, however, that he might have been joking after he then asked the interviewer for a piece of chewing gum. He was speaking at the premiere of Philip Seymour Hoffman`s directorial debut ‘Jack Goes Boating’.

In ‘Sex And The City’ 2, the eagerly anticipated sequel, Sarah Jessica Parker, 45, reprised her role as New York columnist Carrie Bradshaw.
