Eros International Media Limited has announced a successful first week performance for Sajid Nadiadwala's HOUSEFULL. Eros International released the film on 30th April 2010 and the film has since grossed Rs. 95 crores worldwide with Rs. 75 crores gross in India (Rs. 52.3 crores nett) and Rs. 20 crores overseas.
The first of the big ticket releases post IPL, HOUSEFULL enjoyed a wide release with 2000 plus screens with large number of screenings across multiplexes, making it one of the most anticipated films this year. The film recorded a very positive opening weekend at Rs. 48 gross in India, making it the second highest opening after 3 IDIOTS.
Commenting on the film's performance over the week, Nandu Ahuja, Sr. VP - Distribution, Eros International Media Ltd said, "Post the fabulous opening weekend, HOUSEFULL has remained steady through the week. With the second weekend coming up, we are confident the film will continue its superb run over this weekend too".
HOUSEFULL brings together once again the HEYY BABYY team of Eros, Producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid Khan. A comic caper in inimitable Sajid Khan style, the film stars his favorites Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh along with Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal and Jiah Khan.
