Bollywood actress Dia Mirza has dismissed rumours of a wedding with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar. News started doing rounds after media in Pakistan claimed the two were going ahead with the engagement next month, and that sources close to the 'couple' had already confirmed the report.
Dia Mirza however, is far from amused. "“I’m in SHOCK! Woke up from a nap after a long meeting n been getting calls from media asking me if I have married sum Pakistani cricketer,” she tweeted.
“I don’t even know Shoaib Akhtar! I have no clue where all this started from but it’s completely baseless and not true …Just surprised that such ludicrous talk cn actually make it’s way 2 national news! It’s not even April fools day! Ha ha … 4 d last time. Ive not spoken 2 Geo TV.
Their claims R totally false. I’m not marrying Shoaib Akhtar. Do not know him,” Dia added, lashing out at reports that claimed the former beauty queen had spoken to Pakistani media about the wedding.
There have been no statements from Shoaib Akhtar on the issue.
